If you haven't yet updated your Windows 8 CP, I would like to inform you that updates are now available for Mail, Calendar, People, Messaging, SkyDrive and Photos Apps in Windows 8 Consumer Preview. Some bugs have been fixed in this update.
These are among the apps, created by Microsoft and which come pre-installed with Windows 8 CP. These apps, still in App Preview stage, are among the most used one's and they have therefore been updated based of the feedback provided by users. Earlier many users had complained about these apps and reported bugs.
Update Windows 8 Apps
First, go to the Store by clicking the Store App.
You will see the available Updates shown in the top right corner. Click on it.
The list of apps, for which updates are available, will be displayed. You can select all or only the one's you want to update.
Click on Install - you will see the button in the bottom right of the App Updates screen.
Installation will commence.
The latest version installed are:
- For Mail, Calendar, People, Messaging: Version 16.2.3258.308
- For SkyDrive : Version 16.2.3258.308
- For Photos : Version 16.2.3257.307
To check the version installed on your computer, open the app > open the Charm bar (By moving the mouse cursor to bottom right corner) and click on Settings and Select About/Permissions to display the app version you have installed on your computer.
Please note that you will require Microsoft account (Windows Live ID) to access the Store.
