Cumulative and current firmware and drivers for the Surface Book for the Microsoft Download Center are now available for download. For any device to function better or as expected it should perform 2 important things
- Offer periodical hardware updates, better known as firmware updates
- Offer software updates.
Microsoft has made available firmware, and driver updates for the Surface Book; including optional WinTab drivers.
Surface Book firmware and drivers
This firmware and driver package contains drivers for all of the components in the Surface book, as well as updates to the system firmware that have been rolled out via Windows Update. All the drivers and firmware are compatible with Windows 10 including Windows 10 Enterprise editions. Additionally, the WinTab driver is made available for those professionals needing WinTab compatibility with Certain Surface Pen enabled applications.
All the drivers and firmware considered essential for the deployment of custom images of Windows on your Surface devices are included in the driver MSI and ZIP files. For sake of convenience, the Ethernet dongle drivers are included as separate packages in addition to the ZIP and MSI. The ZIP file allows you to selectively install or deploy individual drivers whereas, MSI by default, install all relevant drivers automatically.

- Windows 10
- Surface Book required for compatibility with these drivers. These drivers and firmware are compatible with Windows 10, including Enterprise versions.
Install Instructions
Visit the download page and choose the downloads you want. Use the provided hardware updates and drivers to repair problems with custom installations of Windows on your Surface Book or prepare your custom images for enterprise deployment. Please note that, it is necessary for you to be connected to the Internet while downloading the updates for your Surface device. If you can't install updates because of Wi-Fi problems, kindly plug your Surface into a working electrical outlet before installing updates.
