Those wanting to download Surface Pro 4 drivers, firmware and software can now do so from the Microsoft Download Center. It is essential, for downloading updates that you be connected to the Internet. If you can't install updates because of Wi-Fi problems, try plugging in your Surface into a working electrical outlet before installing updates and kindly do not unplug or turn off your Surface while it's updating.

It is also necessary to download and install only the appropriate MSI file for your Surface from the Microsoft Download Center. To do so, make sure you're logged into your Surface with administrator rights.

Visit the download page and tap on the red Download button.

Check the box for the latest version of the MSI file (in this case the January 2015 version) then tap Next. The driver MSI and ZIP files contains all of the drivers and firmware needed to deploy custom images of Windows on your Surface devices.

The firmware and driver package includes drivers for all of the components in the Surface Book, as well as updates to the system firmware that have been released via Windows Update. These drivers and firmware are compatible with Windows 10, including Enterprise versions

Wait for the download to finish then extract the contents of the zip file to your desktop.

For convenience, the Ethernet dongle drivers are included as separate packages, in addition to ZIP and MSI files provided.

Also, the WinTab driver is provided for those professionals needing WinTab compatibility with certain Surface Pen enabled applications.

Tap on the .MSI file, check the “I accept” box then tap the Install button to begin the installation process.
