Millions of Chinese people, the world over are Chinese New Year today. This year will be the Year of Snake.
Legend has it that in ancient times, Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year. Twelve came. he named each year after an animal. It is believed that the people born in each animal's year would have some of that animal's personality. Those born in snake years are wise, charming, gregarious, introverted, generous, smart - but short-tempered too, as the snake is associated with wisdom, beauty & intelligence - also pride and anger.
